The Research and Development unit of Gokak Mills consists of Quality Assurance, Quality Improvement, Product Development, Quality System Implementation, on line and offline process control and testing.

It is one of the largest such unit in India. The unit has been recognized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.

The unit has some of the most sophisticated testing equipment to test raw material, material in process and the final product. The range of equipment includes: Cascade Computerized Count Balance, Instron, Uster Tensorapid, Uster UT 3,Uster Classimat, Keisokki Classifault II,HVI, Schalafhorst Friction Tester,Crock meter, Trash Analyzer, etc.

The services of our laboratory are given free of charge to various universities and Educational institutions for research projects.
