Established In 1885 but modernised over the decades, the century old Gokak mills is one the most modern in India. Right from commencement Gokak set the pace first developing yarns for handlooms, then tyre cords and industrial yarns, next weaving and knitting yarns and today it caters to worldwide markets for Quality yarns. With their reputation as yarn spinners well established, the mills have diversified into dyed yarns, canvas, terry towels, knitted garments and other downstream products. The world is Gokak mills market with its product well accepted in more than 35 countries besides India. Approximately 50 % of the current output is exported directly. The mills have recd.
